Scholarship for Military Dependents Program

Scholarship for Military Dependents Program

Each year, America’s Gold Star Families awards $1000 scholarships to eligible Military dependent family members who lost a loved one in active-duty service to our country to enable them to pursue higher education. Each is a non-renewable scholarship to be used at a college/university or a trade/vocational school to allow the dependent to follow their aspirations for a higher education or vocational certification.

Scholarship Guidelines

Since the inception of the Scholarship Program, AGSF has awarded $25,000.00 in scholarships to dependents of the fallen to help accomplish their goals and pursue their dreams. In 2023, we will award a total of twenty-five (25) additional $1,000 scholarships for study at a College or University or for courses leading to Trade/Vocational School certification. The award check will be made out to the college, university, or trade school, so you will be required to provide documentation of acceptance into the course of study. You can find the details in the “Scholarship Application” tab on the top of the home page. The deadline for application is June 30 of each year.

Eligibility:

The scholarship opportunity is open to dependent family members who lost a loved one in active-duty military service to our country. This could include not only dependent children of the fallen, but also parents, spouses, adult children, siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, or grandchildren of service members, who may potentially qualify as military dependents. See the “Scholarship Application” for guidelines on how to provide proof of meeting eligibility requirements.

How to Register

Eligible dependents who want to be considered for a scholarship award this year should click the “Scholarship Application” button at the top of our home page and follow the instructions for completing and submitting the application. Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming the receipt of your application.

Selection Process

Each application will be considered individually by our AGSF selection committee based on the details provided and evaluated on the relevance of the course of study to the applicant’s stated goals. Applications are reviewed weekly, and applicants will be notified of our decision via email at that time.
